Position Summary:
Clark Bros., Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Civil Project Manager to support the successful delivery of civil scopes on utility-scale renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and battery energy storage (BESS).
The Civil Project Manager will lead projects from preconstruction through final completion, overseeing all aspects of civil construction execution, project controls, subcontract management, and client coordination. This role works closely with superintendents, field teams, and clients to ensure civil work, such as grading, excavation, trenching, access roads, and site development, is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the execution of civil scopes for renewable energy projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Partner closely with Superintendents and field leadership to plan work sequencing, staffing levels, equipment needs, and project schedules
- Manage project scope, schedule, cost, and risk for civil construction activities while maintaining clear communication with clients and internal stakeholders
- Review and interpret plans, specifications, and civil design packages to ensure constructability and alignment with field execution
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and cost forecasts, tracking production and adjusting projections as work progresses
- Manage subcontractor and supplier relationships, including buyout, contract administration, and performance oversight for civil trades
- Prepare, track, and negotiate change orders related to civil scope and manage associated impacts to cost and schedule
- Oversee project documentation including RFIs, submittals, grading reports, testing results, and project reporting
- Coordinate procurement and delivery of materials related to civil work scopes (aggregate, piping, geotechnical materials, etc.)
- Ensure all civil work is executed in accordance with contract documents, grading plans, and quality standards
- Partner with field leadership to implement and enforce project-specific safety programs related to earthwork and heavy equipment operations
- Monitor job cost reports, production metrics, and project performance to maintain accurate cost-at-completion forecasts
- Identify and mitigate risks related to site conditions, weather impacts, logistics, and civil production challenges
- Lead project meetings with clients and internal teams to communicate progress, address issues, and maintain alignment
- Oversee project closeout including punch lists, as-builts, turnover documentation, and final reporting for civil scopes
- Mentor and support Project Engineers and other team members to foster strong project teams
Qualifications and Expectations:
- 5+ years of experience managing construction projects, preferably within heavy civil or renewable energy environments
- Strong experience with civil scopes including mass grading, fine grading, excavation, trenching, and site development
- Experience supporting utility-scale renewable energy projects (solar, wind, or BESS) strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of construction operations, project scheduling, cost control, and subcontract management
- Working knowledge of project controls, forecasting, and production tracking
- Familiarity with OSHA requirements and safety practices related to earthwork, trenching, and heavy equipment operations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word); scheduling software such as Microsoft Project preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced project environments
- Valid driver’s license required
- Willingness and ability to travel to project sites as required; projects may be located throughout the western United States

Salary Range: $140,000 - $180,000
