Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains the survey strategy and procedure document, detailing requirements for equipment, survey content, competence standards, accuracy, checking, validation, acceptance, and data archiving.
  • Serves as a technical expert and mentor, providing guidance and training to survey crews, technicians, and field engineers across a variety of project configurations.
  • Establishes, maintains, and verifies survey control networks across active project sites.
  • Conducts and oversees as-built surveys, topographic mapping, cross-sections, and associated quantity calculations.
  • Leads the implementation of QA/QC protocols for all survey-related data, including review of field books and submission of “as-built” deliverables.
  • Ensures proper operation, calibration, maintenance, and adjustment of all survey and scanning equipment.
  • Coordinates closely with project teams, construction management, and engineering groups to meet evolving construction requirements.
  • Manages data collection, processing, and documentation, including scanning and metrology tasks, in compliance with corporate survey standards.
  • Participates in and enforces project safety, quality, and environmental programs as they relate to survey operations.
  • Performs construction layout tasks, including staking for excavation, utilities, foundations, and structural elements, ensuring alignment with design plans and field conditions.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Expectations:

  • Minimum of 6+ years of relevant experience, including field leadership, survey QA/QC, and project coordination.
  • Thorough knowledge of traditional and modern surveying instruments, techniques, and practices, including GPS and robotic total stations.
  • Ability to effectively lead a survey crew and train/mentor survey crew members
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and perform complex geometric calculations.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Physical ability to conduct field inspections and walk-downs in construction environments (including climbing, confined spaces, and PPE use).
  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience with Agtek Gradework and Topcon machine control systems.
  • Certifications such as OSHA 30 (Construction) 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with clients, contractors, and team members effectively.


Salary Range: $100,000 - $160,000
